For Fall Arts Walk, Oly AHA will feature Elizabeth Castro's watercolor landscapes, paired with the stories of how water shaped Olympia as part of our "It's the Water" exhibit. Castro will be on site showing and selling her work Friday, Oct. 2 10am-7pm and Saturday, Oct. 3 12-4pm.
Elizabeth Castro's watercolors depict our beloved Pacific Northwest mountains, lakes, oceans and forests. She has been an Olympia resident for 20+ years raising her three children. As a public servant for the State of Washington for 15 years, she hadn’t found much time for artistic pursuits.
In 2025, after an emotionally and physically exhausting year of caring for her wife through breast cancer treatment, Castro found healing through watercolor. With her wife in remission, she discovered a calming joy in dropping pigment on paper and watching the water flow. What went from a relaxing mindfulness practice for herself turned into connection with others through artisan markets and facilitated art wellness experiences. Visit her Instagram.
This event is free and open to the public.
