Looking southeast from the west side of Olympia, this image shows the wooden causeway across Budd Inlet (at present day 4th Avenue). The causeway had a drawbridge that allowed for boat traffic to pass. The train station and tracks can be seen in the left foreground and in the distance is the Old Capitol with its clock tower, which burned in 1928.
